Meet Our remedial massage therapists
Lauralee holds a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science and a Diploma of Remedial Massage (Advanced Rehab). Her background in health and fitness, combined with her clinical training, shapes the way she works with every client.
She’s trained in a range of techniques — deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, sports massage, myofascial release, cupping, and trigger point therapy — and draws on whichever combination suits you best on the day.
No two sessions are the same. Lauralee takes the time to understand what you’re dealing with and adjusts her approach accordingly, whether that’s working through tightness from training, helping you move more freely, or simply giving you the chance to slow down.
Her goal is straightforward: for you to leave feeling better than when you arrived, and to support you in the long run — not just for the hour on the table.
Mikey has over 10 years’ experience practising and teaching remedial massage, with a strong interest in exercise science, movement, and rehabilitation. His background as both a therapist and educator has given him a broad understanding of musculoskeletal health and a practical, individualised approach to treatment.
He works with clients who want to move better, manage pain, recover from injury, or work toward their exercise and fitness goals. Every session with Mikey combines remedial massage techniques with an understanding of movement and exercise, addressing the underlying factors at play rather than just where discomfort is felt.
Alongside his clinical work, Mikey trains and educates other remedial massage therapists. A role that has deepened his commitment to evidence-informed practice and helping clients better understand their own bodies. His approach blends hands-on treatment with movement-focused thinking, ensuring sessions support both how you feel and how you function.
Mikey is dedicated to helping every client move with confidence and get back to doing the things they enjoy, supporting them on their journey toward long-term health and wellness.

What Is Remedial Massage?
Remedial massage is a hands-on therapy that focuses on tight, tense, or overworked muscles. Your therapist will talk with you about what’s going on before choosing the right combination of techniques — which might include deep tissue massage, trigger point work, or stretching — to help you move and feel better.
Benefits of Remedial Massage
Muscle Tension Relief: May help ease tightness from everyday stress, overuse, or training load
Improved Mobility: Enhances joint flexibility and muscle function.
Stress Reduction: Promotes relaxation and mental clarity.
Enhanced Circulation: May help support blood flow around worked muscles
Important Considerations Before Your Massage at Excelsius Wellness
To ensure your safety and enhance the benefits of your massage, please be aware of the following health considerations. In some cases, massage may be inappropriate or require modifications:
Fever or Acute Infections: If you’re currently experiencing a fever or infection, massage may worsen symptoms and potentially spread the illness.
Blood Clotting Disorders (e.g., Hemophilia): Massage can increase the risk of internal bleeding in individuals with impaired blood clotting.
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT): Massage is not recommended over areas affected by blood clots, as it may increase the risk of dislodging the clot.
Contagious Skin Conditions: Conditions such as impetigo, scabies, or lice can be transmitted through skin contact, making massage unsuitable until resolved.
Recent Surgery or Fractures: Avoid massage over healing surgical sites or fractures until fully recovered and cleared by your healthcare provider.
Medication Interactions: Certain medications, particularly those that thin the blood, can increase the risk of bruising or alter the body’s response to massage.
Cancer or Metastasis: If you are undergoing cancer treatment, massage should only be performed with approval from your oncologist or healthcare team.
Heart Conditions: Clients with cardiovascular issues should consult with a medical professional before booking, as massage may affect blood pressure and heart rate.
