Important Health Considerations Before Undertaking Float Therapy
To ensure a safe and relaxing experience, we ask all guests to review the following health considerations before booking a floatation therapy session:
Epilepsy: Individuals with uncontrolled epilepsy should avoid using float tanks due to the risk of seizures in an isolated environment.
Open Wounds & Contagious Illness: Those with open wounds, skin ulcers, gastrointestinal infections, or other contagious conditions should not use float tanks, to protect both their own health and that of others.
Hypotension (Low Blood Pressure): Floatation can lower blood pressure through deep relaxation. Individuals with hypotension should exercise caution and consult their doctor if unsure.
Pregnancy:
Many float centers recommend avoiding floatation therapy after 37 weeks gestation due to the increased likelihood of labor onset or membrane rupture.
Pregnant women are welcome to float prior to this stage, and pool noodles are available for additional back support if desired.
As with any treatment during pregnancy, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider beforehand.
Heart Conditions & Medical Concerns: Anyone with heart conditions, serious medical issues, or undergoing treatment for illnesses such as cancer should obtain medical clearance from their doctor before using floatation therapy.
Age Restrictions: Floatation therapy is typically restricted to individuals aged 16 and over.
Intoxication: For your safety, using a float tank under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
Menstruation: Women should avoid floating while menstruating for hygiene reasons and to prevent contamination of the float water.
